HEADLINE Excess extra from nowhere ??????
THE INCIDENT

My Accident was in November, I submitted the claim and everything in November, they informed me my car will only be fixed in Jan 2010, ok so I have had to get a hire car for the last 3 months, with no indication of the time period. Now 9th Feb 2010 car is fixed and I have been notified that I will have to pay excess of over R7000 to get my car back, in my policy document it clearly states my excess is R2400 . I have received no form of correspondence indicating excess increase whatsoever.
I am utterly disappointed with Budget, not only does it take 3 months to fix my car but now they sneak charges on me, after I have had to pay almost R8000 for a hire car for the period it takes them to fix my car ... I have lost all faith in the insurance industry of South Africa
